These pages focus on the Suzuki GS250FW and GF250, which both feature essentially the same engine, a liquid-cooled four-cylinder four-stroke 250cc unit. The engine features chain-driven double overhead camshafts and two valves per cylinder. Carburetion is by two Mikuni's and there is a six-speed gearbox and chain-drive. Other features of these models includes anti-dive front suspension, full-floater rear suspension, and both a side-stand and centre-stand.
![]() GS250FW The GS250FW has a single front brake disc and a drum at rear. Two styles of fairing were available, a 'half cowl' or 'mini-cowl'. Production: 1983 on Max Power: 36ps @ 11,000rpm Max Torque: 2.3kg-m @ 10,000rpm Colours: Blue, white/red, white/grey, red (This list of colours is by no means complete - It is based on colour schemes I have seen.)

![]() GF250S Special A special version of the GF250 was also available. Called the GF250S Special, this model seems to differ from the regular GF250S by having a single seat with storage compartment, an extra piece of bodywork below the front of the frame, and no centre stand.
The GF's successor is the GSX250F, otherwise known as the 'Across'. The Across is a little heavier, has a smaller fuel tank (12 litres), no centrestand, but a higher redline (16,500 rpm) and top speed (185 km/h). The feature that the Across is best known for is that it has a storage compartment large enough to hold a helmet where the fuel tank normally is.
