BMW 3-Series (E90) 2004-2004 Review
Available as a 4-door sedan, 2-door coupe, 2-door convertible, and 5-door wagon.
4-cylinder engines feature variable valve timing/lift system and can be problematic. They also suffer worn valve stem seals and can burn oil.
Six-cylinder petrol engines are more reliable but the N52 suffers from piston ring and valve stem seal issues. The N54 engines can require replacement of fuel pumps and injectors at low mileages.
Run-flat tyres were used throughout the range so no spare tyre and speed and range is limited when running on a puncture.
All models equipped with timing chains and most models require premium unleaded.
