I did an oil flush hoping to fix my variable valve timing issues
Since my last post I tried cleaning the oil passageways to the variable valve timing valve with line trimmer cord, and I also checked the wiring from the valve to the ECU, but the check engine light was on and I still had the VVC error codes.
Somebody suggested I try an oil flush so I did run through a bottle of oil flush before changing the oil. I used Valvoline SynPower FE 5W-30 again and a Mann filter.
I cleared the error codes but after a short drive, the error code returned as a pending code. Time will tell if it will take a little time to improve but so far it does not look hopeful.
For this oil change, I used an adaptor for my hydraulic jack for the first time to lift the car on the factory jacking point and it worked great and left no damage, so I can recommend purchasing one of these from eBay or Aliexpress.
